Jewelry Makers Network

A gathering place for jewelry makers to share ideas, make friends, & to have fun

Hi all! My name is Kirsten, I am a 43 years old female from Denmark, Western Europe.
I have always been creative with my hands, started making jewellery 3 years ago. It started with a piece of elastic string and a few glass beads...now I'm hooked on gemstones, Sterling silver and vermeil. I like making fancy pieces, but also big, rough necklaces. I buy a lot from etsy.com, since I there can get materials I cannot get in my small home country, or if available, way too expensive here!
I enjoy making jewellery because it makes me and the occasional customer happy, and gemstones are so nice - pretty, shiny, perhaps even health-giving! :-)

I am married, no kids, live in a bungalow with a sort of 'wild-ish' garden - lots of birds.

I read a lot, especially crime and cookery - I love to cook and bake.
I enjoy travelling, and visit London once a year - my favourite city where I'd live if I were rich!
Currently unemployed after a long period with stress and depression - but making jewellery is a nice pasttime!

Hello Kirsten , nice to meet you,,
I'm new here also.. my name is Edi, I'm born and raised in Germany, but live now here in the US, Florida.

I make wire work jewelry. Use semi-precious stones, and Lampwork beads, crystal.. and I like working with sterling, copper, goldfill and gun metal wire.

I sell my items on Bonanzle.com, a new selling venue, it's very nice there a whole new selling experience, since listing is free.
I also like to garden .. as much as the Florida weather allows . It is very hot here most of the year, and if the sun does not shine, it is raining.

I started making jewelry for the same reasons you do.. to relieve stress and it started as a hobby, but I found out that my items are selling so I put them online, and I'm doing well. I too love making jewelry, I can't imagine my life without it.
hello all i am new to this site too.I make lots of different types of jewelry but wire wrapping is my favorite right now.i am also starting to love precious metal clay.
