Dear Denise & Melissa, your request to join wirework is not being ignored, there are technical difficulties in accepting your membership.  Please bear with us and we will get this sorted as soon as possible.

Wirework is so addictive.  The more I do and see the more I find a world of possibilities - I recently became a grandmother and her name is Willow, so I am presently designing some spring and willow jewellery (still on the drawing board stage) and obviously wirework is the main component.

I have also been noticing as I find new web sites that I am recognising individual styles such as an English artisan working under the name Wire Moon and Zoraida Bros - I am so envious of having found a style of their own which is so professional, fluid and above all beautiful.  Perhaps I will always be a dabbler, but the joy of creating and the warmth of others appreciating what you do is wonderful.

Hi Leslie

Some technical difficulties approving your Wirework membership, I will do it when the gremlins allow.  It's always great to have new members, please feel free to share your ideas, creations, inspirations etc.

Hi Jane! Just posted a photo of my first wirework and polymer clay set - earrings and necklace! I used a doodle clasp, switch know weave, Greek square spiral and just my imagination to tidy it up and put it together. Hope you find it appealing. It is a gift for one of my sisters as it is my first effort and I'm not sure it is saleable. If it did sell, what would I charge for it? Would love your thoughts! Thanks, Jean

Hi Jane! Many thanks for the warm welcome. As I have just started jewelry making I will be posting as soon as I have anything finished. It may look quite primitive and I'm sure it will improve over time but I'm fearless and have a different perspective. Look forward to learning what I can and share with others. All the best! Jean

Welcome to Wirework Jean, I am looking forward to seeing your designs and sharing tips and inspiration.  At the moment I am working on a Wedding Jewellery collection which I will put on to JMN as soon as I am happy with it.

Well, I worked on my wirework and found the answer to two of my own questions - you need a sturdy mandral or gizmo to do basic coiling and craft wire is ideal for making funky coiled jewellery.  Now all I need to do is learn some tricks for twisting coils so that they don't spread.

What is everyone busy with at the moment?  There are lots of stunning and inspiring wirework photo's on JMN right now, perhaps somone would like to share how they adapted a technique or the inspiration for a piece.  I am working with Adventurine and Moss Agate to capture the beauty and idyle of Brittany - I will post the results when I can.

Craft wire - I bought some ages ago and its very pretty and I'd love to use it but can't think how - any ideas anyone?  I have made some spirals for a cluster necklace I am going to make and will probably do some coils to use the wire as contrast to the beads - is this it?
