I've recently gotten into the unique look of steampunk jewelry. I love playing around with broken watch parts :-)

Hi Karen,

Thanks for the info. In looking for parts here in the UK, I found a good US site that might be of interest to Steampunk artists at http://www.eebeads.com/_watchparts.html. In the UK, a good resource might be http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/5/1965.aspx. Hope this may help you and anyone looking for info on Steampunk parts...

All the best! Jean

Hi Jean,

I have found the best sources to be eBay, garage sales, flee markets and pawn shops. The key is to get old mechanical or wind up watches. There are several suppliers on eBay that sell just the gears and parts. You can search Steampunk or watch parts. You can use quartz watches for some parts like the watch face or case but they don't have gears of course :-) Hope this helps!

Hi Karen! Love this. Do you have a good source for your wheels, gears and cogs? I see you say 'broken watch parts' but know some of this should be easy to pick up. I just haven't found a source. Any ideas? Thanks! All the best! Jean
