- I am new at jewelry making. I am a retired elementary teacher looking at a new hobby. We just moved from a metropolitan area to a very small town in Oklahoma. I have a husband, 3 grown sons, 7 grandchildren, and a dog. I have a new found interest in polymer clay! I like trying new things but am unsure of my creative design abilities. I am rather old-fashioned! I love to socialize though and am very supportive of others!

starting off with a newbie question
I'm new at jewelry making and I have a perplexing question. Can anyone tell me the difference between sterling silver plated and silver plated? When I ask on a search I get round about answers. I want to buy some bead caps and spacer beads and some say sterling silver plated(?), others say silver plated. I know sterling silver is 925 but I bought some and they look the same to me and they cost about the same, too. Help! I don't want to mislead customers and I don't want to be mislead…

Well I haven't even tried to sell any of my jewelry yet. But a lot of people sell on Ebay and Etsy...I've been on Facebook for a little while. It a great place to meet other people that have the same interest that you have....:)
My plan it so make my own Cabs and wire wrap pendants. And if all goes well maybe they will sell. If not then I have some nice jewelry I can wear...:) I find my own rocks and cut them up, polish them and then wrap them in wire...
I totally forgot I join this site a while back. I had a friend that added me to it. But we got to where we just chat on Facebook and through emails now. Glad you sent me a message.
There's a lady that I've been taking classes from in Claremore. And I just LOVE the class. it's 25.00 (30.00 if she supplies the materials) and we're usually there all afternoon when we have class. We'd love to have you, if you ever wanted to join us. She does wire wrapping and her work is just AWESOME! She's actually learning how to silversmith right now....that will be my class later down the road.

I'd love to chat with you and hear what all you're making....I take classes from a wonderful lady and her husband teaches my class sometimes. I've just got started in wire wrapping and I'm LOVIN' it!...How in the world did you come across me? Small world...:)
