Do You Use Fishing Line for Beading?
I like to use fishing line such as Fireline for beading and stringing. I find it to be really strong yet flexible. Fireline also has a dark color or an opaque white crystal color which works great with lighter color beads. The downside is that you can't use crimp beads. Do you use fishing line and if so which brand and weights do you prefer?

I have a lot of "free" fishing line in the house (a benefit of being married to a man who loves to fish!), but I haven't actually used it for jewelry yet. I'm still relatively new to this, so I use beading wire and heavy wall crimp tubes (I must have a heavy hand, because I can't use the thinner crimp beads and tubes without breaking them - I must squeeze too hard).
How do you "finish" with fishing line? Is it tied in a knot similar to the kind used when tying on a hook? -

Hi Hannah,
To finish with fishing line, I tie a knot, weave the tail through the work and then tie another knot. Depending upon the design, sometimes I cover the knot with a beadtip or crimp cover. For extra strength I also add a dot of glue to the knot. -
