Ugh.... "Off" Days.

New Ways to Recycle Old Jewelry...

So, today I am researching new ways to reinvent old jewelry. I have found that I had tons of old jewelry laying in the bottom of my jewelry box. I figured I would break them down and then recreate new pieces recycling older one. So far I am liking the results and the idea of recycling because it costs next to nothing to create new pieces. Tip for Making Chainmaille Rings

If you use a Jump Ringer to make rings for chainmaille, here is a quick tip that will help to enhance the shine of your masterpieces. Right after I cut the coil I string a piece of thin copper wire through the rings leaving enough room to twist the two ends together. I then toss this ring of cut rings into the tumbler. Why is Aspect Ratio Important When Making Chainmaille Jewelry?

When I tried to make my first Byzantine chainmaille bracelet I had no idea how important aspect ratio was. It came out so loose the pattern wouldn't even stay together and I couldn't figure out what I did wrong. :-( Then I read about aspect ratio. Aspect Ratio or AR is how the diameter of wire in millimeters relates to the internal diameter of the ring.

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the site and just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Missouri with my husband and 2 kids, 5 1/2 and 14 months. So much to learn, so much to create

I love making my own things, but I hate doing it alone. I love having the inspiration that others bring me.  I need to practice more on wire wrapping.  Maybe  a trip for some cheap wire, and just wrap on /wrap off.....practice makes perfect.
